TRIBUTES have been paid to a former head of the Applied Social Science department at the University of Plymouth, who has died at the age of 83.
Sally Ann Jeffries, who was known as Ann to friends and family, was a keen sailor and well-known resident of Bere Ferrers. She died at Derriford Hospital after a valiant fight against lymphoma.
Ann is survived by her sons, Ian and Colin, daughter, Megan, their respective partners, Christine, Jennifer and Brad, and her three grandchildren, Xavier, Zoe and Eva. She was a proud mother, steadfast sister, doting grandparent and loyal friend.
A wartime baby, Ann was the eldest of five, born in Oxfordshire to a decorated RAF Group Captain and journalist mother. Ann returned to the Westcountry in the late 1980s, after living in the United States from the early ’60s.
