PLANS for a new Fracture Clinic and Urgent Treatment Centre at Plymouth’s Derriford Hospital have been given the go-ahead. The scheme is needed to help ease the pressure on the NHS in the city.
The ‘Fracture Clinic and Urgent Treatment Centre’ is the first step in the development of the ‘North West Quadrant’ at Derriford Hospital. The aim is then to allow the relocation of existing facilities, so that the new Urgent and Emergency Care project can go ahead.
The plans have been given approval this week by Plymouth City Council under delegated powers. The Fracture Clinic will deliver a state-of-the-art clinical department to cater for outpatients with both acute fractures, musculoskeletal injuries, and orthopaedic conditions.
