THERE are rumours celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay could become the new owner of a stunning south Devon pub currently on the market after he was pictured ‘looking around’ the popular waterside free house at the weekend.
Noss Mayo’s idyllic waterside pub, The Ship Inn, went on the market earlier this month for just under £4m as the current owners look to retire.
Situated on the Yealm Estuary and just 10 miles from Plymouth, The Ship Inn has been owned by successful husband and wife team Lisa and Charles Bullock since 2007. But despite the power couple investing heavily in the business over the last 16 years, they have decided that now is the right time to sell-up.
Just days after being put on the market, rumours started circulating that British celebrity chef, restaurateur and television presenter Gordon Ramsay was looking to buy the pub and restaurant, after he was pictured posing with locals there at the weekend.
One visitor said Ramsay, one of the world’s most famous chefs, was seen ‘looking around’ the pub. And a nearby resident told The Herald the village is ‘rife’ with rumours the Kitchen Nightmares superstar is considering snapping up the picturesque watering hole. But owners of the pub are keeping tight-lipped about the ongoing speculation.
