A PLYMOUTH schoolboy is over the moon after being selected to compete in the 2023 Pokemon World Championships – in Japan.
Josh Pool, aged 11, is a massive Pokemon fan and has been competing throughout the year in a range of different competitions all over the country.
Now the Coombe Dean School pupil is flying off to the Far East to compete in the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) against some of the world’s best players.
Josh, who lives in Plymouth, says he has ‘worked hard for this big moment’ and will be one of the only players representing the UK in Yokohama, Japan. He said: “I feel happy and excited to be going to Japan – I worked hard for this big moment. Pokemon TCG is fun and challenges your brain.
