Music charity to help more children

YOUTH PROJECT FOCUSES ON CREATIVITY

A PLYMOUTH charity has won funding to develop its work using music to help young people who are facing tough challenges in their lives.

Plymouth Music Zone (PMZ) will receive £150,000 over the next three years from Youth Music.

It will allow the charity to rebuild its partnership work with education, health and social care organisations to help deliver “musical respite” activities that support the emotional well-being of more than 400 young people and their families.

The Level Out Music programme aims to overcome some of the negative fall-out from the pandemic by seeking to stabilise, sustain and deepen the charity’s work. It will ensure Plymouth Music Zone can continue to focus on the well-being and creativity of children and young people who have to cope with additional barriers, especially during difficult or transitional times.
