A SEASON of classical delights is promised at Levinsky Hall, the concert venue at University of Plymouth, with a series of performances, piano previews and talks.
Highlights of the programme include the London Gershwin Players concert on January 27, 2024 to mark the 100th anniversary of the composition of Rhapsody in Blue in 1924. It is Gershwin’s most recognisable creation that defined the Jazz Age in New York in the 1920s, and is today hailed as a landmark in American music.
The Art Institute’s Director of Music Dr Robert Taub will perform a solo piano recital, Piano Passions, on October 14 that includes some of the most challenging and expressive piano music ever composed and reflects Plymouth’s maritime pre-eminence.
