Prison sentences are punishment for park assault

TWO men have been jailed after attacking a man in a park in Plymouth, battering him around the head and leaving him with a fractured skull which a judge claimed that, but for the expertise of medics, would have most likely resulted in his death.

Owen Lock and Dylan Ayres - both now aged 21 appeared at Plymouth Crown Court to be sentenced for affray and causing grievous bodily harm.

Lock also was sentenced, after he admitted possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

Judge Robert Linford reminded Lock, of Westcountry Close, Camel's Head, that the police had carried out a search of his home address on March 1, 2022. Three small bags of cocaine were found. He noted the cocaine had been tested and was found to have an 85% purity.

In addition officers, found scales, £290 in cash and other drugs paraphernalia. His phone was investigated and found to have messages indicative of drugs supply. Lock admitted the offence, claiming that he was employed by others to sell the drugs, despite only being 18 years old at the time. Judge Linford observed that Lock was released on police bail, but he went on to commit other offences.
