The downpours on Sunday has reportedly caused sewage overflows at dozens of South West beaches, with SAS reporting alerts at Firestone Bay and Plymouth Hoe.
Similar situations have been reported at beaches in the rest of Devon as well as in Cornwall and Somerset, which were also hit by Sunday's severe weather.
The Met Office had predicted up to 25mm of rain across the South West, with some areas potentially seeing up to 60mm.
