Stevenson helps guide Cornwall Gate to win

SIMON Stevenson bothered the scorer marking down the tons an outrageous 17 times during Cornwall Gate's 8-3 win at Duchy A in the Plymouth City Super League Division B.

Stevenson's mammoth haul included the highest checkout in the division of 120, whilst team-mate Andy Malinowski put the only maximum onto the scoreboard.

That three-treble visit helped Malinowski end his evening on ten tons, whilst the talismanic pair also offered up the best legs of the match.

Malinowski's 17 and 18 dart legs in a 3-0 win were only bettered by Stevenson's solitary effort in 14 in another 3-0 success.

Wayne Town dominated the Greenbank derby with thirteen three-figure scores as Town's Clifton edged Fawn B out in a 7-4 triumph.

Town joined team-mate Dan Jewell and Fawn's Mark Sargeant in adding maximums to their night's work, whilst Cory Jonas' checkout of 116 helped him to a 3-1 individual success.

Paul Freeman had his scoring boots on with 12 tons that took Kings Tamerton to a fine 7-4 success over Ker St.

As the scoreline suggests, it certainly wasn't all one-way traffic as lan Heggie provided most of the fire power for the defeated side with ten tons.

Heggie's team-mates Ralph Lancaster and Pete Lamerton also produced moments of magic with a 72 checkout and a maximum respectively.

Lancaster's checkout was, however, matched in the contest as Kings Tamerton's Lee Hunter also finished at the first time of asking from that very same figure.

Mark Hopkins put eleven tons onto the scoreboard and added an 86 checkout as St Levans won 6-5 at Victoria, whilst Harry MacGregor's leg in 16 bettered a 17-darter from Aaron Wright, who was the only 180 hitter.

Despite ending on the wrong side of a 7-4 defeat, Hyde Park's Bob Woods' 17-darter and an 88 checkout from team-mate Jacob Bentham provided the best moments in their defeat at Kings Arms A.
