Winning goal gives Mumba a boost in confidence

BALI Mumba has admitted his crucial goal for Plymouth Argyle in their Sky-televised 1-0 away victory over Rotherham United has given him 'a massive boost of confidence! Playing in his preferred left wingback position, Mumba netted for the first time in five months to secure a much-needed three-point haul for the relegation-threatened Pilgrims and end a run of six Championship matches without a win. Now Mumba is looking forward to playing at a packed Home Park again when Queens Park Rangers, another I'm looking of the teams going into fighting to stay up, are the visicouple of g massive c tors tonight (7.45pm).

The 22-year-old has called on the Green and tha I ne Army to get the place bouncing' as Argyle play there for the first time since the sacking of head coach Ian Foster last week.

Mumba's winning goal against Rotherham came shortly after the half-hour mark when he got on the end of a cross from Morgan Whittaker and took a good touch of the ball before firing home from a tight angle.

"It felt unbelievable," said Mumba, who like a lot of his team-mates has had an up and down time of it lately. "I think it was something that I needed. It gives me a boost of confidence and from now on the only way is up. I'm looking forward to going into the next couple of games with massive confidence and that's what I need.
