PROCEEDS from a pro-wrestling event in Lipson at the weekend have been donated to Plymouth Hospitals Charity – and organisers say the event was a big success.
Jason King of Reach Wrestling organised their latest show which was held at Lipson Co-operative Academy on Saturday, and saw six contests including a main event battle between 15 wrestlers.
Jason himself took on protege Connor Moses in a singles contest, while Connor’s brother Cameron Moses also made his debut at the sell-out event.
Around 150 wrestling fans watched the show, and Jason said he is now gearing up for a one-on-one against WWF legend Scotty 2 Hotty – the stage name for Scott Garland – in November.
Jason said: “I’m his [Connor’s] coach and have been coaching him for five-and-a-half years, so it made most sense for me to wrestle him.
“I asked him who he wanted to wrestle, and he said me. It was sweet really, but when I asked him, he said it was his dream just to wrestle me, so after all the work we had put in, it was nice to give him his moment.
“He won the match so that was nice for him too – though not so nice for me!
