Constable on patrol duty stabbed to death in Govindpuri, two arrested

A Delhi Police constable was stabbed to death by three people on Saturday while he was on patrolling duty in southeast Delhi's Govindpuri area, officials said, adding that two of the attackers were arrested.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Sanjay Sain said Deepak Singh, 20, has been arrested by a team of Crime Branch from Govindpuri following an encounter. "Deepak received a bullet wound in his leg in retaliation by our team when he opened fire at them during his arrest. He is currently undergoing treatment," Sain said. Meanwhile, the second accused Krish Gupta was arrested later in the day.
