KARNATAKA Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) state president Badagalpura Nagendra said the KRRS has decided to hold a massive protest in front of the Reserve Bank of India regional office in Bengaluru in the last week of January to protest the policy of reducing agricultural loans by NABARD. The farmers' forum is also demanding dropping of the CIBIL score criterion for agricultural loans and to formulate a simple policy for loan repayment.
Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, Nagendra said the protest will be held against the Central government's policy of reducing agricultural loans given to farmers by 58 per cent through NABARD after discussing the issue in the recent state executive meeting of the association.
