Murasoli case: SC closes defamation suit against Union Min Murugan

IN a big relief to Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting (I&B) and BJP leader L Murugan, the Supreme Court on Thursday closed the defamation case filed against him by Murasoli Trust.

Murasoli case: SC closes defamation suit against Union Min Murugan

A two-judge bench of the apex court, led by Justice B R Gavai and Justice K V Viswanathan, pronounced the order on Thursday and closed the defamation case.

While taking into record the statement of apology from Murugan, who stated that he had no intention to injure or harm the reputation of the respondents in any manner, the top court passed its orders.

Senior advocate Sidharth Luthra and NR Elango, appearing for Murasoli Trust, told the court that it will not prosecute the matter further.
