PRIME Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said India-ASEAN trade has doubled to over $130 billion in the past decade and announced a review of the trade in goods agreement to harness the greater economic potential of the partnership.
He announced a 10-point plan to strengthen India-ASEAN comprehensive partnership and asserted that ties with the regional grouping were critical to guiding Asia's future.
"Our trade with the ASEAN region has almost doubled in the last 10 years to over $130 billion. Today, from India there are direct flights with seven ASEAN countries, and soon direct flights will also start with Brunei," Modi said at the summit in Lao PDR.

LTIMindtree on Thursday reported a 7.7% increase in its consolidated net profit to ₹1,251 crore. The company had reported net profit of ₹1,161.8 crore in the year-ago period. Its revenue from operations in the second quarter stood at ₹9,432.9 crore, a 5.9% increase compared to ₹8,905.4 crore in the same quarter last year. Its operating margin (EBIT) stood at 15.5% in the September quarter.
