The Supreme Court on Friday refused to stay the decision of the UP government and only served a notice after Madhumita 's younger sister, Nidhi, approached the top court.
“We were surprised by the order of the government. This kind of order has been issued by misleading the Governor which is completely unfair,” Nidhi said.
She expressed fears of threats to her and other family members’ lives from Amarmani after his release from jail.
She said that Amarmani Tripathi and his wife Madhumita Tripathi, who were sentenced to life imprisonment, have been living in room numbers 15 and 16 at Baba Raghavdas Medical College, Gorakhpur, continuously since 2012 while they were supposed to be held at the Haridwar Jail in Uttarakhand.
Nidhi said that after filing the contempt petition in the Supreme Court, she had been continuously sending letters and mails to the government and the Governor for the last 15 days, requesting that no action should be taken till the Supreme Court decides on the contempt petition.
