The staggered payment would require government making payment of OROP arrears since 2019, first to payable to those getting family pension and gallantry award winners by March 30, those 70 years and above by June 30 and the rest in there instalments - on August 31, November 30 and February 28, 2024.
The first category of family pension and gallantry award winners will cover nearly six lakh ex-servicemen, the second category of those above 70 years of age will include around four lakh exservicemen and the last category will come 10 lakh ex-servicemen.
