The celebration was organised by the Vedanta Society of Japan, a unit of Ramakrishna Mission in collaboration with the Vivekananda Cultural Centre of the Indian Embassy in Tokyo. The programme was held on 3 June last at the Indian Embassy and was attended by the Indian Ambassador in Japan Mr. Sibi George.
The main speaker was Swami Medhasananda, the Head of the Vedanta Society in Japan. The theme of this year’s celebration was Swami Vivekananda’s Concept of Yogas. Several dignitaries from different enlightened groups in Japan, cutting across religion, addressed the congregation.
