While the NDRF has recovered the bodies of eight people in the worst-hit Mulugu district of Telangana who went missing when they were trying to escape flash floods, state Congress president A Revanth Reddy has alleged that 30 people have died in the state and gave a call to Congress workers to perform the last rites of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and municipal affairs minister KT Rama Rao as he slammed the state government for inaction.
The state government has not given out any official statement on the death toll but various reports have said several people died in the flash floods caused by 48 hours of continuous rain.
The Congress state president also alleged that 30 people have died in the floods.
