ALICE TAI had to relearn how to swim when she chose to have her leg amputated two years ago - now she is a Paralympic champion.
The 25-year-old stormed to S8 women's 100m backstroke glory in a Games record time of 1:09.06, nearly six seconds clear of the competition.
The Rio 2016 gold medallist has remastered each stroke since losing her right leg under the knee and overcome issues with her grandfather passing away earlier this year.
"The last three years has been crazy," said Tai.
