BOSS HAS TIMBER IN FRAME

ERIK TEN HAG has told Manchester United to make Ajax defender Jurrien Timber and Benfica striker Darwin Nunez their priority from a raft of potential summer signings.

The new United boss has spent his first few days at Old Trafford identifying possible targets in consultation with football director John Murtough, technical director Darren Fletcher and recruitment consultant Ralf Rangnick.

Ten Hag wants to bring in six new players this summer - but knows his ability to do so will depend on thinning out the bloated squad he has inherited, in order to raise cash.
