CARLOS ALCARAZ felt the heat from Chile’s Nicolas Jarry in a Centre Court thriller but survived the scare to keep alive his dream of a final with Novak Djokovic.

Organisers at the Championships might as well have handed the famous old trophy to the Serb this morning had world No.1 Alcaraz crashed out.

But he dug deep and turned round a 3-0 deficit to claim the fourth set and with it a 6-3 6-76-37-5 win which was nearly four hours in the making.

Told that fans wanted to see a final between him and Djokovic here, Alcaraz said: "It's not only tennis fans and sport fans who want that final, myself as well.

"But I have three rounds ahead and I'm really focused on the next round.
