HIKE COUNCIL TAX IN WAR ON EMPTY HOMES

THE Government is being urged to crack down on greedy investors who buy up homes then leave them empty to rake in profits when prices rise. 

London Mayor Sadiq Khan wants local authorities to be given the power to hit these investors with uncapped council tax bills.

It comes as Labour’s Lisa Nandy warned rocketing rents and rising house prices were making ordinary people’s “dream of home ownership ever more distant”.
