ENGLISH prodigy Kris Kim has already shown he can handle the PGA Tour - now he wants to earn a shot at The Open.
Surrey youngster Kim may be just 16, but he has already made the cut on the PGA Tour after a sponsor's invite in May.
He shot a stunning threeunder-par 68 on his PGA Tour debut as he went on to finish 65th at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
Now the teenager from Epsom aims to qualify for The Open at Royal Troon next month after excelling in the amateur ranks.
He is set to tee it up in final qualifying at Dundonald Links on Tuesday try to compete for the Claret Jug. Kim, who turns 17 in September and is coached by his ex-pro mum Ji-Hyun Suh, visited the Scottish course earlier this month for a practise round.
The starlet reckons links golf suits him and his eye for creativity, unlike some pros who rely on stock yardages honed on launch monitors.
