STOKING THE FIRE

EOIN MORGAN may have called time on his international career - but his legacy is likely to be around for a whole lot longer.

In fact, Paul Farbrace, England's former assistant coach, believes we will see it every time Ben Stokes' side takes to the field in Test cricket.

Morgan announced his retirement on Monday, pulling up the stumps on a career that will forever be remembered for his glorious tenure as England's white ball captain.

Under the Irishman, England won the 2019 World Cup ending a 44-year quest to be crowned 50 over world champions by beating New Zealand in a Super Over at Lord's.

Farbrace was part of the coaching set-up that, under Morgan and coach Trevor Bayliss, did not just transform England's on-pitch fortunes, but also revolutionised white ball cricket.
