<p>The TDP leader, Polnati Seshagiri Rao, sustained injuries on his arm and head. He was shifted to government hospital and later to a private hospital in Kakinada.</p>

<p id="3">Police said an unidentified person dressed like a godman came to Seshagiri Rao&rsquo;s house and asked for alms. Rao gave him some money. The man refused to take money and asked for rice. When Rao went into the house and brought rice, the culprit attacked him with a sharp weapon. Seshagiri chased the attacker but he fled on a motorcycle parked at some distance away. The police formed teams to nab the culprit after checking CCTV cameras. Even though the attacker was visible in the CCTV footage, the police said his face was not clear as he wore mask on his face. He broke the number plates of the bike to hide his identify. The police are collecting CCTV footage.</p>
