<p>The announcement comes a day after chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao opened eight new medical colleges in eight districts in the state for pushing the cause of public healthcare.</p>

<p id="3">The NIMS expansion project will make the hospital one of the largest, with 2,000 beds of which 500 will be in ICU. This will also enable NIMS to increase the number of departments to 42, including for trauma, emergency, cancer, heart and liver.</p>

<p id="2">The college will also add super-speciality nursing services and training. Once the project is finished, Telangana will have nearly 10,000 super speciality beds.</p>

<p id="2">The order apart from sanctioning the amount has asked the director of the institute to raise additional financial resources from banks, financial institutions by way of debt syndication. The work on physical infrastructure will be carried out by the roads and buildings department.</p>
<p id="3">&ldquo;Telangana government under the visionary leadership of CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has made health of people its top priority,&rdquo; health minister T Harish Rao tweeted.</p>
