New Delhi: As the Congress leadership continues to grope for a candidate to support in the election for party president, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot said the party works under its chief Sonia Gandhi and all issues will be sorted out soon. He arrived in the capital on Wednesday night and will meet Sonia for deliberations in the morning, talks that will have repercussions for the leadership issue as well as the CMship of Rajasthan.
Amid lingering suspense over whether Sonia will persist with Gehlot as her favoured nominee in view of the revolt by his loyalist MLAs in Jaipur, word spread that senior leader Digvijaya Singh may file his papers for the top poll. He has already reached Delhi, leaving the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
New Delhi: Amid hectic parleys and flying visits between Jaipur and Delhi, AICC general secretary incharge of organisation KC Venugopal said Rajasthan will have a new CM soon. “There is no drama in Rajasthan. Everything will be clear in a day or two, and you will know who is going to be the new CM,” he said in Malappuram, Kerala.
