Lalit Modi’s post on Thursday – announcing that he was dating Sushmita Sen – was met with both congratulations and memes. “Just back in London after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families – not to mention my #betterhalf @sushmitasen47 – a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon (sic),” wrote the former IPL chairman and entrepreneur, resulting in a collective social media meltdown of sorts, with many assuming the two had already tied the knot, too. However, Lalit was quick to clarify in a subsequent post – “Not married – just dating each other,” though he added, “That too, it will happen one day (sic).”
Lalit’s profile picture had already been updated to a smiling pic of the duo, while his bio read: “Finally starting a new life with my partner in crime. My love @sushmitasen47”, with a string of heart emojis. Ranveer Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Farah Khan Ali were among those to congratulate the couple in the comments section.
