BJP promises UCC, 'anti-radicalisation' cell, 20L jobs in Guj

BJP vowed to implement a uniform civil code (UCC) and set up an "anti-radicalisation cell" to identify and eradicate potential threats from terror groups as it released its manifesto on Saturday for the upcoming Gujarat assembly election.

The declaration statement promised 20 lakh job opportunities for youth, one lakh government jobs for women, expenditure of Rs 25,000 crore on strengthening the irrigation network, free education for girls from KG to PG, converting 20,000 schools into "schools of excellence", pucca houses for all, and a massive infrastructure development push, as the ruling party envisaged making Gujarat a $1-trillion economy.

The "sanklap patra" of the party was released at state BJP headquarters by party president JP Nadda in the presence of chief minister Bhupendra Patel and state unit chief CR Paatil.
