<p id="1"><strong>New Delhi: </strong>Aaftab claimed they had been fighting regularly over the past year and were, in fact, living as flatmates and not as a couple. &ldquo;He even claimed that they fought over ownership of household goods. Shraddha had asked him to bring some stuff back from their earlier accommodations, but he refused. He claimed these petty issues snowballed into nasty fights,&rdquo; said the source.</p>
<p id="2">On Wednesday, when police asked Aaftab to tell them the sequence of murder and disposal of her body again, he said he killed Shraddha sometime between 8pm and 9pm on May 18 and dragged the body through the kitchen to the bathroom and left it there for the night. He was asked to repeat the sequence of events multiple times in different ways to check his versions.</p>
<p id="3">A senior officer, however, said they were not taking his claims on face value and would wait for what he says during the narco analysis. A court nod is expected on Thursday during the custody hearing, the officer added.</p>

<p id="2">Police sources said the gadgets of the accused were&nbsp;sent for cyber forensic through which cops would be able to retrieve deleted chats between the two.</p>

<p id="4">Cops would also question the friends and colleagues of Aaftab to check if they had noticed something unusual.</p>
<p>Apart from narco analysis, police are also exploring the option of conducting polygraph (lie detector) and brain-mapping tests. The test reports are not admissible as evidence in court, but are used by police to get clarity on different aspects of the case if they believe that their suspect is hiding things or lying.</p>

<p id="2">In this case, police started exploring these options after he gave conflicting answers to their questions, but remained confident, triggering suspicion that the murder may have been pre-meditated.</p>
<p id="3">An officer said a narco test was done if the suspect was continuously changing statements. During the process, a drug, sodium pentothal, is administered by a doctor. The dose depends on the accused&rsquo;s sex, age, health and physical condition. &ldquo;Doctors use different instruments, like cardio cuffs and sensitive electrodes, for the analysis. These instruments are attached to the suspect and different variables, including blood pressure, pulse and changes in sweat glands, are monitored. A numerical value is assigned to each response to check whether the suspect is speaking the truth or lying,&rdquo; added the officer.</p>
