What do you love about food photography?
Both food and photography have always been big parts of my life. I was previously a chef before I had a complete change after 30 years in the hospitality industry. In June 2021, I won an Instagram food competition run by Nikon, which totally surprised me. My prize was a Nikon Z 5, and that was the start of my belief in myself and my photography. I will always be grateful to Nikon and its food photography ambassador Donna Crous for all their support.
I simply started by photographing what I had cooked and posting the results on Instagram. This turned into getting more followers and, eventually, photography jobs – the rest is history. Along the way, I also found a local greengrocer who inspired me with their fresh seasonal vegetables and fruit.
