There are so many myths about food and nutrition related to cancer and it's difficult to find out the truth. Often the information shared by people and on internet is very confusing. One cannot clarify the fact about the statement.

Misbeliefs related to Food, Nutrition and Cancer

Such misinformations are often harmful as many people blindly make changes to their diet which ultimately affects their health in future. It is always best to go with the information given by your healthcare team. In this article some common misinformations regarding food and nutrition related to cancer have been disclosed.

Cancer and causes Cancer is one of the largest disease of the world. These are abnormal cells that grow uncontrollably and can infiltrate to nearby tissues thus spreading to all parts of the body (metastatic). But the survival rates are increasing due to early screening, proper treatment and taking preventive measures.

Gene mutations( by birth or induced after birth)

• Lifestyle

• Age

• Environment

• Habits

• Family History

• Health Condition

Misbelief 1: Intake of fat makes you fat

Fact: Since a gram of fat has 9 calories as compared to carbohydrates (4 calories) or protein (4 calories), it gives you a feeling of fullness, which can reduce overeating. Fat is necessary to absorb the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K, which help keep us hale and hearty. It is often recommended to consume fats and oils from plant-based foods like nuts and seeds. So, just remember, calories, whether from carbohydrates, proteins or fats, which is not utilized or burned will be stored as body fat therefore keep moving.

Misbelief 2: Juices and vitamin C can kill cancer
