I reached up to my helmet to grab my Oakleys and every cyclist's worst nightmare came true: they were missing. I'd had them a mere kilometre before, and I have them sitting on the table next to me now, but the journey this pair of Oakley Encoders have been on is unique.

The Tour Alsace was a form-finding mission for me. I'd put a good training block in after having some pretty major treatment for an injury, but was still missing race form. I was half decent, but nothing special.
