Koo’s new 30g Hype glasses have been designed with maximum ventilation in mind and to blend the full-coverage benefits of a shield lens with the airflow of a twin-lens design. The new one-piece lens has the look of a two-piece, thanks to the nose bridge cutout that allows air to flow, and is matched with vented hinges to keep fogging to a minimum. These glasses have a close-fit hold with enough tenacity to cope with off-road use.
The lens quality is up there with the very best – it’s made for Koo by leading optics company Zeiss and, unlike most full-shield lenses, has both horizontal and vertical curvature. That should help keep it distortion-free, even at the edges. The lens is also interchangeable, with Koo offering nine options (Clear, Brown, Smoke, Turquoise Mirror, Red Mirror, Green Mirror, Copper Mirror, Petrol Mirror and Super Pink Mirror) priced between £45 and £65.
