After being left without a team for the season Finn Crockett had Saint Piran to thank for giving him an opportunity to showcase his talents, culminating in him winning Sunday's Beaumont Trophy.
The 24-year-old won bronze in the Commonwealth Games road race last season and was looking forward to a programme of European races with WiV-SunGod this campaign after RibbleWeldtite stopped their team.
However, WiV-SunGod also disbanded and Crockett was left without a programme heading into the early races.
But Saint Piran came to his rescue, and after some top-20 finishes in the Tour of Britain the Scottish talent sprinted to victory in the final round of the National Road Series, the Beaumont Trophy in Northumberland.
"It's not been the easiest of seasons for myself with my team folding earlier in the year," said Crockett.
"I was trying to find a place, and Saint Piran gave me the opportunity. To pay them back with a win like this is awesome."
After dominating the National Road Series, Saint Piran missed what looked like the winning breakaway.
