WITH both Royal Ascot and our Boodles July Festival here at Newmarket gone our thoughts here at HQ have now turned to the big Goodwood Festival and then the Ebor York meeting.
What a great Royal Ascot it was for trainer Tom Clover winning the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes for the small Rogues Gallery Syndicate with ROGUE MILLENIUM. Tom celebrated by taking all the Kremlin House stable staff out for the evening to the Unique Night Club here in Newmarket. It was a wonderful result for the smaller owner and show you can own a winner at the Royal meeting without spending a small fortune.
Former Jockey Eddie Ahern is to apply to be able to ride again. He is a fine horseman and rode many winners before being suspended. Eddie has spent the time during his suspension at his Melton Mowbray property in Leicestershire breaking in yearlings and preparing them ready to go into full training. Let's hope he returns and is able to continue his career in the saddle.
Trainer Alice Haynes has had some horses formerly with George Boughey moved to her yard including very promising juvenile ASADNA. She had Kieren Fallon ride work on it recently over six furlongs and Kieren reported the horse to have a big future.
