Joining Kaizer Chiefs is not child's play. This was the stark warning uttered by former central defender Dominic Isaacs, who spent four years with Amakhosi between 2008 and 2012 when 24-year-old striker Ashley du Preez signed from Stellenbosch FC.

Du Preez scored nine goals for his club last season the joint-fourth highest in the PSL along with Cape Town City's Mduduzi Mdantsane - which made him a sought-after addition for a proud institution desperate to end their seven-year trophy drought this season.

'Chiefs are a massive club - you could see that in the fact that even though Sundowns did the treble last season, the headlines were still about Stuart Baxter leaving and Arthur Zwane's appointment as his replacement,' Isaacs told SoccerClub.

'The sooner Du Preez integrates with his teammates the better. It doesn't matter how good he was at his previous club, he will have to start all over again. Everywhere you go you need to gain the respect of your teammates as soon as possible. If you don't perform, it becomes even more difficult.
