INTERIM coach Omer Riza says he wants to be Cardiff’s next permanent manager – despite the Championship’s bottom side suffering a heavy loss at Hull.

BLUEBIRDS STAND-IN RIZA IS UP FOR JOB

The Bluebirds are without a league win, without a manager and have suffered their worst start to a season in 94 years.

But Riza said: “I want to be a head coach – I’ve made no secret of that. I’ve been ready for the last couple of seasons to step into a position like this. I’ve not just walked off a street. I’ve worked in coaching for the last 13 years and my time will come when it comes.”

Cardiff, who last Sunday sacked Erol Bulut, made an instant impact under Riza when Callum Robinson opened the scoring after 18 minutes.

But they self-destructed during a wretched first-half spell in which man-of-the-match Bachir Belloumi scored twice after 21 and 35 minutes.
