The Tykes looked to be cruising to victory after goals from Herbie Kane and Devante Cole put them 2-0 up just after the half-hour mark, before the departing Clarke-Harris got in on the action to rescue the home side.
Clarke-Harris, who is widely expected to leave in January, was handed his first league start in two months and his shock recall could not have gone any better.
He may now be involved against Derby in a crunch promotion battle tomorrow and Ferguson said: “Jonno knows his time is up at the club as he’s likely to get a move in January.
“He is a great example of someone who has trained well and been great with the younger players.
“I told him yesterday he was going to play as we needed to give Ricky [Jade-Jones] a rest and that he has nothing to prove to anyone so to go out and play his normal game.
