GAME MOURNS LOSS OF GEORGE

Baldock, who joined Panathinaikos in the summer after seven years at Bramall Lane, drowned in the swimming pool of his home in Athens on Wednesday evening.

"Numbing to hear of George Baldock's passing, a man with so much still ahead of him in life as a husband, father, brother and son," said Heckingbottom, Paul his manager at Sheffield United during the 2022-23 promotion-winning campaign.

"George was a super person and fantastic professional who was admired and adored by all who worked with him. My prayers are with his loved ones right now.

George, it was a privilege to have known you." Baldock came through the youth system at MK Dons, following in the footsteps of older brother Sam. He eventually made 125 appearances and was part of the side promoted to the Championship in 2015.
