DETERMINED Blackburn Rovers defender Dominic Hyam would be happy to go toe-to-toe with Erling Haaland to prove himself worthy of a place in Scotland's Euro '24 squad!
Hyam, 27, missed out on facing Haaland when he made his senior debut for the Tartan Army as an 89th-minute substitute during June's crucial 2-1 qualifying win in Norway.
The metronomic Manchester City goal machine had exited the action five minutes earlier with the hosts 1-0 up.
And, while Hyam admits he was pleased to see the back of Haaland for the team's sake on that occasion, he would be prepared to pit his wits against last season's 36-goal Premier League top marksman if it gave him an opportunity to audition for a place on the plane for Germany.
The ex-Coventry centre-back did not make Scotland's squad for this month's internationals when qualification was secured despite a 2-0 loss in Spain.
