JAMIE'S UP FOR THE CUP AGAIN
The Football League Paper|November 12, 2023
FOREST Green Rovers wing-back Jamie Robson already has a Scottish Challenge Cup winner's medal to his name but is now craving knockout success this side of the border.

JAMIE'S UP FOR THE CUP AGAIN

During the past two seasons, Robson has been on the receiving end of FA Cup upsets against Chippenham and Hartlepool as a Lincoln player.

He also came within a minute of completing an inglorious hat-trick before teenage sub Olly Sully's stoppage-time equaliser rescued a replay for Forest Green in this season's first round during a 1-1 draw at sixth-tier Scarborough. That tie will now be decided at The New Lawn on Tuesday night.

A second round trip to Blackpool is the reward for the winners and the Perth-born 25-year-old believes a good Cup run could have a positive impact on the Gloucestershire outfit's League Two form.

Robson was a member of the 2016-17 Dundee United team that beat St Mirren 2-1 in the final of the Challenge Cup - the nearest equivalent tournament to the EFL Trophy in this country, which was contested at the time by clubs outside of the Scottish top-flight.
