The Seasiders made it four league wins on the bounce under new manager Steve Bruce.

Odeluga Offiah put the home side ahead after 19 minutes before Rob Apter added a second early in the second half. Tangerines’ skipper Lee Evans completed the scoring 15 minutes from time.

“It was terrific. A really pleasing performance. A clean sheet and three goals scored,” he said.

Filling in for Bruce on press duties, Agnew was full of praise for goalscoring captain Evans.

“He ran the show really. He’s been excellent since the first day he came in the building. To add a goal too and on his left foot as well was really good.”

Agnew was keen to point out that he and Bruce were pleased to not let a goal in.

“It is something that we have spoken to the players about. We want to keep clean sheets. We got one the other night at Huddersfield and to get one today is great.”
