CHAIRMAN Raj Singh says his decision to put Hartlepool United up for sale was ‘perhaps the toughest I have ever had to make’.
Pools’ relegation from the Football League was virtually sealed when they lost their crunch home clash with rivals Crawley 2-0 last weekend.
It was confirmed yesterday despite a 3-1 win against Barrow.
It is only the north-east club’s second season back in the EFL after a four-year absence and supporters made their feelings known after defeat to Crawley.
That has convinced the Teesside businessman, who took the reins in 2018, to end his stewardship of the club.
In a statement, the 58-year-old said: “This comes as an incredibly tough decision, perhaps the toughest I have ever had to make, but I will formally be putting the club up for sale.
“It is certainly not what I had intended to do but I feel I must listen to the voices from Saturday (after the Crawley defeat).
