FOREST Green midfielder Teddy Jenks admits there will be no room for sentiment if he gets the opportunity to heap pressure on the man who once selected him for his country.
Jenks scored for England Under-17s against Sweden in the 2019 European Championships finals when Steve Cooper was the team&rsquo;s manager.
Now 21, he will be part of the Rovers team hoping to secure an FA Cup trip to Cooper&rsquo;s Nottingham Forest &ndash; the reward for the winners of Tuesday&rsquo;s second-round tie at Blackpool.
Jenks teed up Matty Stevens for the final goal in a 4-2 midweek win to finally settle the thrice-played first-round contest with Scarborough.
That one-off match in North Yorkshire was staged after Forest Green were punished for not informing the FA they had permission to play a loan player in the original encounter between the two teams.
The Gloucestershire side had previously relied on a stop-page-time equaliser to stay in the tournament at the Flamingo Land Stadium before winning a now-expunged replay 5-2 and the Cup has, almost unintentionally, become a distraction from the club's League Two travails.
Potential third-round hosts Forest have had their own league headaches with a run of four consecutive Premier League defeats - culminating in last week's 5-0 thrashing at Fulham leading to frenzied speculation that the ex-Swansea chief was about to lose his job.
He hasn't as yet but, if still in situ on Sunday, January 7, Cooper would be unlikely to survive an unfavourable result in the Cup.
Jenks, right, has&nbsp;admitted that a visit to the City Ground is a "huge carrot" ahead of travelling to League One promotion hopefuls Blackpool.
His only previous outing against a Premier League outfit came in the Cup on his professional debut for Brighton at the age of 17 in a 3-1 defeat against Aston Villa.
And, if the former Seagull gets a second chance to clip the wings of a topflight team, he confessed that he wouldn't be harbouring any concerns about his old international mentor's job security.
"I felt like I got to know really him well in a short space time of and he's a really good person who is a fantastic coach," Jenks said of his time playing under Cooper. "His man-management was excellent with the lads and he was like a good mate to everyone "I think he's done a fantastic job at Forest and it would be nice to see him again, but I could be playing against my best mate in the world and I'd still want to beat them and that's how I'd be treating it.
Carrot 
"We're fully focussed on Blackpool first, but it's a huge carrot. Playing in those kind of stadiums against those kind of teams is what we all live for."
In another twist of fate that the world-famous knockout competition has a habit of throwing up, Jenks could also be lining up in midfield on Tuesday night against his former Brighton and England Under-17s team-mate Jensen Weir, who is on loan with the&nbsp;Seasiders from the south coast Premier League outfit.
"We were in touch before the game was called off and were both annoyed by that at the time," Jenks declared about the delayed second-round tie. "We'll be going there now knowing it will be a tough game but backing ourselves to win." The midfield playmaker also reckons Rovers will arrive at Bloomfield Road with greater firepower after Stevens made a goalscoring return to the team at Scarborough following six weeks on the sidelines.
Fellow forward Callum Morton was also on the scoresheet after making his first start since been ruled out for the whole of November: "To have them both back is a big boost - 100 per cent," Jenks pointed out. "We see what they are capable of in training and I thought they were excellent against Scarborough."
