On-loan Tottenham midfielder Alfie Devine, 19, was Vale’s hero with a long-range effort on 50 minutes at Mansfield, which ended the Stags’ 20-match unbeaten run. It earned the Valiants a place in the quarter-finals for the first time in their history.
