As a 3D artist specialising in architectural renders, I'd like to share the story and challenges behind the creation of this particular render. While browsing architectural websites and magazines, I stumbled upon a captivating project called KDW 199 House Extension by the Dutch firm CUBE Architecten. The design and harmony of this project deeply resonated with me, so I decided to recreate it, paying utmost respect to the original work.
Initially, I faced the challenge of modelling the project without access to the precise dimensions of the house. To overcome this obstacle, I meticulously examined every available image, utilising them as references to recreate all the objects within the scene. Starting with the kitchen, I modelled each interior component, working my way to the library. Among the interior elements, the most demanding part proved to be accurately representing the dining chairs.
Having completed the intricate interior modelling, I then proceeded to enhance the exterior part of the project by adding complementary elements. With the foundational work accomplished, I shifted my focus to setting up the camera and preparing the scene for optimal lighting. With my understanding of the pivotal role that lighting plays in creating a beautiful render, I devoted a considerable amount of time and effort to carefully selecting the most suitable setup.
