AN IMAC OR mid-range monitor actually does a passable job of audio playback despite the physical limitations of their thin design. The Soundblade is essentially a sound bar that's designed to sit under your iMac or monitor and solve this problem. Available in five colors, it has a fairly plastic but solid enough feel and comes with a remote control as well as having some touch-sensitive buttons to one side of its top surface.
