This technological advancement brings significant improvements, including up to 35 percent faster CPU performance and up to 65 percent enhanced GPU performance compared to its M1 predecessor. A key update with the M3 MacBook Air is the added support for dual external displays, a feature that previously was limited to a single monitor in both the M1 and M2 MacBook models. This improvement is aimed at users seeking expanded screen real estate, although it requires the laptop to be in clamshell mode for this functionality.
